Village Residents Association Meeting
September 8,
2009
Before the meeting began, Attorney Kathryn Linn from
the Millhorn Law Firm spoke for about half an hour on the following
topics: Last Will and
Testament, Probate, Revocable Living Trust, Durable Power of Attorney with
Health Care Surrogate & Pre-Need Guardian Provisions, and Living Will
Declaration. David has extra
copies of the outline she provided.
Minutes
of the August 11, 2009, Meeting:
After correcting the start time of the
August 11 meeting to read 3:30pm, a motion was made
by Bev and seconded by Mike to approve the minutes as read by Judy James.
Treasury:
Mamie reported a current balance of $1,130.48 in the treasury.
That includes $217 in the 50/50 raffle fund and $500 in reserve.
Some committees need to submit invoices for payment.
Phil will look into finding a local military service member to
receive money from the 50/50 fund.
Decorating
Committee: Mamie reported
Halloween decorations will be put up at 3:30pm on Saturday, October 24,
and taken down at 3:30pm on Sunday, November 1.
Thanksgiving decorations will be put up at 3:30pm on Saturday,
November 21, and taken down at 9:00am on Saturday, November 28.
Christmas decorations will be put up at 3:30pm on Saturday,
December 13, and taken down at 3:30pm on Sunday, January 3.
Sunshine
Committee: No report.
Neighbor
Helping Neighbor: No
report.
Social
Committee: Fred reported
the following:
- October
31 – Halloween Party
from 6:00 to 9:00pm at Ashley Hall.
Cost: $8pp.
Invitation to follow.
- November
12 – Winter Park pontoon boat ride through Lake Osceola ($10pp)
followed by a visit to the Morse Museum ($3pp) and lunch on your own.
- December
6 – Christmas Party at the Manor.
Cocktails at 5:00pm; dinner at
6:00 pm. Dancing to the
music of Cajun Dave from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
Cost: $32pp.
(Mamie noted that nonrefundable payment should be made by the
end of October in order to have enough money to cover expenses.)
- December
9 – Cookie Exchange at 1:00pm at Hope’s.
- Every
Tuesday at 8:29:16am sharp – Men gather in front of Lowell’s to go
out for breakfast.

Preferences Survey to Fred by October 1.
Crime
Watch: In Susan’s
absence Jim reported nothing except the e-mails from the sheriff’s
office.

Board
- HOA
membership meeting for all Plantation residents will be held at the
Manor beginning at 9am on September 15.
- Intent-to-run
form for one of the five one-year terms of the HOA Board of Directors
due October 1.

Walk
Around with Teresa Watkins: Five
SRV residents have agreed to participate.
Phil said it may take place on September 21 or 22.

Olympics: SRV residents

Saturday from 12:30 to 3:30pm at Ashley Hall.

requested SRV residents to send in additions/ deletions to the lists which
will be posted on our Web site.

Sable Ridge Village residents’ meeting will be held at 3:30pm on
Tuesday, October 13, at Ashley Hall.
Jim Woodruff won the 50/50 raffle; $14.50 will
be added to the 50/50 fund.
At 4:45pm a motion to adjourn the meeting was
made by Mike and seconded by Phil.
