NEW BUSINESS

Architectural Review Committee (ARC) Meetings:  Administration Office at 8:00am on Wednesday, June 9th and 23rd also July 7th and 21st.

Sable Ridge Village Residents Association:  Background:  David called a meeting of SRVRA officers on May 29th to brainstorm three main topics:  continuance of the Social Committee, frequency of Association meetings, and the difficulty in finding people to run for office.  The officers came up with a questionnaire composed by Ron which addresses those issues and more.  Responses will be compiled and analyzed to determine the future direction of the Association with results presented at the October meeting, possibly earlier.  Questionnaire responses are due by July 31st.

Meeting attendees were asked for their comments on the topics and a fairly lengthy discussion followed.  Some highlights:  Several residents thought social events could be scheduled by different individuals – “event champions” – on an ad hoc basis.  David said he would distribute event details to members of the Association.

Frequency of meetings is one of the items on the questionnaire.  Last year residents indicated a desire to meet monthly, but that may change.  If speakers are invited, they will need a certain number of attendees to make the visit worthwhile.  To increase attendance, a suggestion was made to invite another community to join us.

Basic duties of officers:  The President runs SRVRA meetings and distributes e-mails.  The Vice President conducts meetings in the President’s absence.  In many organizations, the VP succeeds the President for the next term.  The Treasurer handles the checkbook and accounting records.  The Secretary takes minutes of the meetings.

Herb made a motion that the next SRVRA meeting be held on September 14th.  Fred seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved.

Sable Ridge Resident of the Month:  David thanked Phil for the work he does behind the scenes such as attending the HOA and PRO Board meetings, addressing landscaping issues, assisting Frank with the Web site, and maintaining the vendor list.

50/50 Raffle:  Mike won the raffle; $17 will be added to our charity fund.

At 4:40pm a motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Janis and seconded by Esther.

David invited everyone to join him and Yolanda for dinner at Bee’s Resort.

 Respectfully submitted,

  /Judith James, Secretary
