HOA
Board Membership: Every
position is up for election each year.
Only five people applied for 2010.
Lyle Johnson is stepping down.
Election results will be posted in The
Plantation Times.
50/50
Raffle Fund: Because
the Leesburg Food Bank is running out of food, Janis made a motion to
donate $247.00 in the raffle fund to the food bank.
Ginger seconded the motion.
Mamie will find out if the food bank prefers food or a check.
PRO
Board Meeting on October 5: The
new state bill has taken away a lot of power regarding landscaping from
HOAs. The HOA wants to use
the term Florida friendly
landscaping instead of xeriscaping
and is working on guidelines. The
HOA Administration Office will provide addresses of houses that have
incorporated water conservation landscaping.
Teresa
Watkins Walk Around: Let
Phil or Dave know if you are interested in participating in Teresa
Watkins’ walk around.
Water
Issues
- Water
Audits – The HOA continues to follow up with the City of Leesburg
on this subject.
- Pools
– It appears the Manor pool will be heated by propane gas this
winter. Conversion of
swimming pools from propane to geo thermal may happen next year; the
Manor pool will probably be done first.
Conversion is expensive but the cost savings could be
significant.
- Change
to SRV Irrigation Schedule – Beginning November 1, Sable Ridge
Village residents will be able to water only on Fridays until
Daylight Savings Time returns.
- Shared
Wells at the Plantation – The subject is being investigated.
Shared wells should not affect the aquifer.
Architectural
Review Committee: Any
changes to the outside of your house or yard need to go through the ARC.
ARC meetings are open to all residents.
Plantation
Olympics: About 15
people from SRV participated in yesterday’s opening ceremonies.

people to attend our monthly meetings.

dates/times are available.

Let Frank know the names of medal winners so that he can post
them on the Web site.

to residences this year.

today’s meeting.
